Every year my friends and I have the same idea
"Let's do a Secret Santa" that way we don't need to buy each person a different present
We put everyones name together and randomly pick one
After choosing Michelle, I thought she would be easy to make content.

"We like so many similar things" I thought to myself
Picking out something for her will be a breeze
I wanted something funny or to show her how much i care
But I couldn't think of anything that would please.

I walked around the mall for what felt like an eternity
Then finally I saw something that was perfect
She always complains how she needs stud rhinstone earrings
So that was a the present I would select.

Then I ran into another problem
We made a twenty five dollar price point, so I needed something more
Thankfully I walked past a kiosk and saw just what to get
It was a little calendar of puppies, a gift I knew she would adore.

When it was time to exchange presents a big smile grew on her face
That made it worth the effort and searching all over the place!

FDU Cheerleading Compeition

Every November is the cheerleading competition
The nerves are usually something I could bear
Except this year our practices weren't going too well
My flyer simply could not stay in the air.

We were supposed to do an arabesque
But down the stunt continued to come
We practiced for what felt like a million times
My arms started becoming bruised and numb.

Then one day it hit me
I figured out how to change the stunts around
Everything still looked good and clean
And prevented my flyer from falling to the ground.

Performing at competition could not have gone better
Every single stunt stood tall
Words cannot explain how excited I was
The judges announced we won first overall!

Spirit Week and Homecoming

Every October our school has Spirit Week and Homecoming
I think it's safe to say it's the craziest time of year
It involves planning, wacky outfits, tough competition
Hunting for a dress and working on the class cheer.

This year our grade felt the need to win
As our last year in school, we had to make our mark
Almost everyone participated during the week dressing up
As well as decorating the senior lounge to look scary and dark.

Friday was the most hectic of all days
We knew we were going to find out what grade would come out on top
Silense fell over the gymnasium as the ranks of the grades were announced
When we found out the seniors won, our exhilaration could not be stopped.

To end the week was the Homecoming dance
The food was delicious and everyone was taking pictures with their friends
It was great to see how many people ended up coming
And I had the time of my life dancing until the very end.

My Overwhelming College Search

Searching for a college to go to has been overwhelming
There are just so many things to do
When in the world am I going to end up?
I wish I had a clue.

I have visited so many schools
Nothing seems to be a perfect fit
I continue to look all over different states
But most days I want to just quit.

Maybe if I wasn't so picky about where I wanted to go
This one is too small, this one isn't far enough
This school would be great if they had better majors
I'm dealing with my future, so the decision is pretty tough.

What happens if I don't find a place I completely love?
This is currently my number one fear
I will keep on traveling and keep on searching
Until I find a perfect place to spend my next four years.
